Retractable Umbrella

Inventors Henry J. Hasselbach, Robert G. Snow, and John C. Hasselbach of Decatur, TX have created an umbrella system which deploys from the top down versus the bottom up arrangement of conventional umbrellas.

Umbrellas suffer from one common flaw in that they must be positioned an arms lengths away from the users body before deploying. This is to allow the ribs of the umbrella to fold up from the bottom to their protective top position. This restriction often means the user must get wet when getting in or out of a motor vehicle, or stepping outside from a building with no protective awning or overhang. Inventors Hasselbach, Snow, and Hasselbach have created a means by which umbrellas can be deployed and retracted in a radically different manner.

This clever new invention does not have to be held out at arms length. It keeps users drier than conventional umbrellas. It offers increased protection when entering or exiting a motor vehicle. It is perfect for backyard patios or outdoor restaurant tables. It is also great for baby buggies, beach umbrellas, and golf bags. The use of the Retractable Umbrella provides an alternate means for deploying and retracting an umbrella in a manner which more adequately protects the user from the rain and elements.
