Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Shawn Szepi of Winona, MN has created an innovative new platform base to keep you dry in your tent when the weather turns on you.

While at a campsite, it started to downpour and Szepi noticed everyone with a tent hurriedly packing up and throwing their belongings into their cars trying to keep everything dry. After the rain, everyone was complaining about wet clothes and blankets. He just knew there had to be a way to keep the rain from ruining a camping trip. In turn, he developed the Outdoor Utility Platform!

The invention was primarily designed to keep water from entering your tent. It also acts as a ground stabilizer with a height adjustment mechanism for leveling the platform on uneven terrain. Each platform has a base plate with an interlocking edge, tent stake openings, and intersecting channels. Since each platform is interlocking, users can create as large a foundation as needed. After use, the device simply folds for quick and easy storage. Not only a great camping accessory, the platform can also be used by waterfowl hunters, beachgoers, frisbee golfers, and more!
