Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Morris W. Boner of Louisville, KY has created a protective helmet with integral cooling capability.
Even the healthiest worker can succumb to heat illness while on-the-job. Overheating is also an issue off the construction site, too. It can even happen to a person at home. While mowing his grass in the summertime, the protective eyewear Morris was wearing just produced more heat. It quickly became unbearable and he just knew there had to be a safer way. In turn, he developed the Cooling Helmet and Wearable Pack!
The invention is a protective insulated helmet with an elastic stretch band at the neck that acts as an air seal. An insulated ice pack is worn comfortably around the waist. During use, the ice packs battery-powered fan blows cool filtered air through a tube into the rear of the helmet. Not only does this keep the wearer comfortable, it prevents heat exhaustion and heat stroke. This product will be ideal for construction workers or homeowners who would simply like to mow the grass or do yard work without breaking a sweat.
