Inventor Garrett Newman of Valley Center, CA has designed a cake shield to stop the spread of germs as candles are blown out.
According to a recent study, blowing out birthday candles increases cake bacteria by 1,700 percent! That is a frightening statistic! You might associate this problem with young enthusiastic children, but germs can be spread by anyone as they blow out their candles. In turn, Inventor Newman was inspired to design the Cake Germ Protector!
Users will take hold of the shields two extended tabs, gently place it over a cake, and insert candles into any or all of the shields perforated holes. This will protect against germs like those associated with the common cold, flu, or tuberculosis. Once the cake has been protected, the shield can be washed and reused for years to come. Various size cake shields are possible.
