Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Kip Dues of Fort Recovery, OH has created a specialized mounting plate for hydraulic coolers located on the rear frame area of a semi-truck. As a mechanic, Kip installed many hydraulic cooling units and was never a fan of mounting them on the side of the truck frames. It forces you to run the oil lines low to the road and allows a lot of road grime to sandblast and disfigure the units, which causes filters and clamps to rust and break. He just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, he was inspired to develop the Hyra-Plate! The invention is an easy-to-install, no-drill mounting system. Made from solid steel, the invention allows the hydraulic cooler unit to be securely mounted to the rear frame area where it will receive better protection from the truck cab. Mounting the units above the truck rails allows hoses to start high off the road and allows the truck cab to protect the unit from the elements. Want to learn more about the Hydra-Plate?
