Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Tony Sirois of Canada has created a way to properly seal the lower edge of a garage door to keep it from freezing during times of snow and ice buildup.

There is nothing worse than trying to open your garage door, only to find it frozen shut. To prevent damage to his door opener, Tony would have to kick the bottom of the door whenever he wanted to open it. He would then have to reattach the existing seal that comes with the door. He just knew there had to be a better way. After looking for other options, he came up emptyhanded. In turn, he was inspired to develop the Garage Door Seal!

In addition to keeping the lower edge of a garage door sealed during freezing weather, the invention will also keep materials from blowing underneath a closed garage door. The invention will protect the existing door seal and prevent motor and gear damage to the opener. The seal can be used for both residential and industrial garage doors.
